I got selected for interview for role of PL-SQL -Java technical lead through mind map consultants a from the consultancy in Bangalore had processed my profile and was asked to come for Interview on 23rd of October initially. The morning of 23rd October I got a call saying that the interview was cancelled and was asked to come for Interview on 30th October. I had attended the interview at Bangalore Belandur location pritech park 11th floor initial discussion was with a manager he had done an initial evaluation on my behavioral and organizational skills and found to be good and asked me to proceed with Java Technical round. The Java person had asked me questions on collections,inheritance,polymorphism,Abstraction,Encapsulation,JDBC,Hibernate,Spring,REST web services Scope,Agile Methodology.
After the java interview was asked to wait and I was told that I have cleared the discussion and asked me to come next day 31-Oct-2017. I had taken up the PL-SQL round and was asked questions on data modeling,joins,writing queries on 2nd highest salary,exceptions in PL-SQL,creation of exceptions as records,DBMS UTL package,Creating cron jobs for unix, a PL-SQL program for table type,collections etc. Then was asked to leave for the day. The consultant told me the interview process is only one day everything would be over but already a week was over since I was called for interviews. I got a call on that following saturday 10th November 2017 from HR .I was told that had cleared the interview and was asked to come for Paris round that had been held on 12-Nov-2017. I had attended the interview with paris counterpart the discussion was mostly Agile,Functionality,Deployment,Technical Architecture,managerial and understanding about my skills. After this I got call next day saying I have cleared the Paris round and was asked to come for a discussion with Senior Vice President of that division on 16th November 2017 and it was a good discussion for half an hour and the end of the discussion I was told that the SVP just called me for a general discussion as I have attended several rounds and the discussion was good and was told that they will connect with me within 2 days.
After that round there was complete silence I had called up the consultancy following week was told that the managers are on leave and they haven't come back on the feedback. Then waited for another week and called back the consultancy on 28th November 2017 again was told that there are 2 more candidates to attend paris round. During my discussion I was told that joining date will be on or before 14-December-2017 and I also told them that I'm an immediate joinee as In my current organization I was out of project and awaiting new opportunities. Then again contacted them on 7th December 2017 was told that its on hold. Meanwhile I got another offer and was keeping that on hold as expecting much from this organization in terms of career growth. Then 13-Dec-2017 I called back the feedback was that my profile was on hold. 21st Dec 2017 I told the mind map consultancy to convey that I'm an Immediate joinee and the lady told me that they are waiting for 2 other candidates of their's to complete the interview and mine is on hold. The consultant acted as though she is not aware that I had taken up these many rounds. Then had written emails to HR on 05th Jan 2018 was told that my profile was still on hold. 16th Jan 2018 had contacted the consultancy they told me that SocGen has chosen an internal candidate for that position and it has been closed. There had been lot of miscommunication from mindmap consultants
Then I came to know that whole of my time & travel in attending the interview was wasted. I still din't understand the whole point of attending several interviews with SocGen if I'm not going to get selected. If I'm not going to get selected then it could have been conveyed earlier without wasting their time and my time. I missed several other opportunities as had kept it aside or hold expecting a good career from Socgen . Luckily I got another offer same time and took it. Now even if i get another interview from SocGen do I have to go through all this and after going through all this is their a hope of getting selected or its just a mock interview. The process was pathetic and time had to wait from 26th Oct 2017 to 16th Jan 2018 to know that you have not been selected due to internal candidate is frustrating and the talent and the effort put in interviews was of no use. I wish this reaches out to the seniors of this organization and such process does not happen again and if they are not interested in a particular candidate reject them in the initial rounds without wasting their time .
