I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sodick (IL) (San Jose, CA) in Oct 2014
Interview
I applied online though their Craigslist posting, a week later I had a written skills test interview. During the skills test, they sat me down in a room for an hour with a test which had about 10 different questions, most of which were identical to CS course tests.
The next week I was notified that I was advanced to the next round of the interview. I had an in person interview with 2 of the engineers. Mostly it was asking questions whose answers were written on my resume and job application. This was over in 15 minutes and I thought that I'd failed.
The next week I was told that I had an offer and scheduled an appointment. I showed up and an administration official handed me a written offer. She made it clear that there was no negotiation so I declined.

Question 1
The format of the written skills test is a random sampling of exam questions from a CS curriculum, nothing particularly hard. If you missed a core course you won't be able to answer one but it likely won't doom you.
I had 2 questions which were seemingly more relevant to the job description and they required decent algebra skills to resolve.
