      Senior Recruiter - Generalist Interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Solace

      Interview

As a seasoned professional who has gone through many hiring processes, I found Solace's application process to be one of the most frustrating and discouraging I've encountered. Requiring a 1-minute video introduction as an early screening step feels unnecessarily performative and exclusionary. While I understand the intent to assess communication skills or personality fit, this format can feel forced, awkward, and inequitable—especially when it’s imposed before any meaningful conversation or context about the role or team. Not everyone is comfortable talking to a camera under pressure, and it’s a poor stand-in for actual qualifications, experience, and potential. Beyond the video requirement, the overall experience lacked clarity and consideration for the candidate. The process felt more like a filter for “who can jump through hoops” than a genuine effort to get to know strong talent. There was no human interaction or feedback loop—just a faceless system that demands a lot and gives little in return. In an age where candidate experience is more important than ever, Solace's approach feels outdated and impersonal. I hope the team reconsiders this process in favor of something that actually respects applicants’ time and talent.
