I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Solano Community College (Fairfield, CA) in Oct 2023
Interview
Really smooth experience, there were two interviews I went through. 1 was with a bunch of people from the department and then there was one with just me and my future management. The second was way more relaxed than the first one. You do need to make sure to prepare for their questions like what diversity means to you how you help students or the public kind of questions. I can't remember all of the questions but if you do your research about the position just in general you'll most get the answers you need to help you connect with your own work experience you've got.

Question 1
How well do you work with a student public population? Basically was one of the questions.

Interview
It was your average panel interview that you would expect from a higher ed institution. I followed up with appreciation and a status check a couple of weeks following the interview and....ghosted. I suppose I should be thankful in a way that I dodged a bullet with this organization. In this day and age, any company or institution that is unwilling to value the time and effort of potential candidates is not one that is worth devoting time toward. I strive for professional courtesy and I'm just uninterested in working alongside individuals who believe they are above treating people decently. I've had a few interviews in my day and, whether I received the offer or not, there was always respectful communication processes in place. Not here!

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Solano Community College (Fairfield, CA) in Jun 2019
Interview
The application process is average/relatively easy. The first interview is with a selected panel of employees and supervisors - a set list of questions for each applicant, and a pre-interview assignment/exercise that will be reviewed and rated by the same panel. The second/final interview is with your potential direct supervisor and their manager, in a more casual interview style.
