I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Solent University (Southampton, England) in Nov 2013
Interview
A panel consisting of 3 people, prior to interview was told to prepare a 10 minute presentation on the future of digital journalism. This was done using a memory stick and plugged into university computer. Mine didn't work, but I had a large laptop with me and the panel were happy that I played the presentation to them via my laptop.
after the presentation they then grilled me on my career so far, the experience in industry as well as my experience as a coach and mentor.
They asked if I would be happy to undertake a masters degree as well as complete my PGCE if they were to employ me.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
they asked how I would deal with difficult situations or disruptive behaviour.
Was a fair interview with a panel, good experience. Had to give a short presentation. Asked about experience and skills. Friendly staff. Clear onboarding and process no problem. HR quite efficient.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Solent University (Southampton, England) in Oct 2023
Interview
Face-to-face interview for a lecturer position in psychology department. Included two stages, same day. One is small teaching practice (30 min) and panel interview (40 min) with three academics. Enough instruction provided before the interview. During this period, I noticed the addition of a new member on the university's website, which led to some confusion about my application's status.
However, it's been 50 days since the interview, and I have not received any communication regarding the status of my application.
