Interview
I am genuinely disappointed by my interview experience with Sonar. The staff I met were incredibly friendly, and I truly believe they have a strong product that would have been exciting to sell. Unfortunately, the interview process itself didn't live up to that positive first impression.
The company utilizes a lengthy five-to-six-round interview process. By the third round, candidates are required to build a project and deliver a 20-minute presentation. I was only given a few days to scramble and put this together, but it went fine.
What really disappointed me, however, was what happened next. After dedicating that time and effort, I was completely ghosted, receiving no rejection email or follow-up of any kind. When a company asks candidates to spend their personal time working on a project, it should come with a baseline level of human courtesy.

Interview Experience:
Interview process was straightforward and the conversation itself went well. The recruiter joined the scheduled call about 10 minutes late but was otherwise professional during the interview.
After the conversation, I was told I would be moving forward in the process. However, there was no communication for several weeks despite this update. I eventually received a follow-up stating that the role had been closed and that another candidate had already been far along in the process.
Overall feedback:
Clearer communication and more transparency around candidate status and timelines would greatly improve the experience. It was confusing to be told I was progressing, followed by a long period of silence and a delayed update and rejection. Raised some concerns for me as a candidate.

Interview
Four rounds of interviews, with a take home/presentation challenge. People and culture fit interview as well which was surprisingly robust. The culture fit is taken very seriously, and you should prepare accordingly.
