I had a reference and was contacted by a recruiter who did an initial brief screening with me, not more than 15 minutes. He described Sonic and their company mission (privacy, growth, etc.). He asked me if I would be up for a fast paced role working with a designer and I described my background. He decided to pass me on to the Marketing Manager and told me they would contact me by that Thursday.
The Manager was in contact by Thursday morning and scheduled a call for me for the following day. I waited for the call but did not receive anything. A couple hours later I received an email apologizing for missing the call. This put a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth and I wondered if this meant they were a little disorganized – Sonic is expanding rapidly and I wondered if they were a little overwhelmed.
We rescheduled the call for a few days later. On this call it became apparent that I lacked some of the experience for the position (my background is more in design and less in marketing) and they weren't looking to train. After describing my experience we pretty quickly ended the call.
