      Interview

I filled out some information on their site and received further information by email. I had to download their software and follow instructions to go through their training. After you watch a bunch of videos and take quizzes on the material, you can do the typed exercises. You are referred to their online help system to answer any questions. Their style guide is way too confusing and hard to find the information you need, even using the search function. It is also contradictory in places, which is very annoying. Their software is archaic and apparently can randomly change your document when you save it, and you'll be blamed for the mistakes. I know because I saved copies of what I had submitted and when I was sent what needed to be corrected, there were some differences between what I had saved and what they sent back to me. Very odd. After making the changes and resubmitting everything, I was told they couldn't offer me a position but no explanation of why at all. It would have been more helpful to see what was supposedly wrong. I've seen here that you are supposed to have three opportunities to review things and resubmit but I guess that's inaccurate. I'm really confused because I definitely corrected all of the items they said were wrong, even the ones that were not mistakes that I made. The whole process was an exercise in frustration because of their clunky software, contradictory style guide, and vague instructions. I am actually relieved that I was not hired because if their application process is this ridiculous, I'm almost certain that working for them must even worse.

I was never actually interviewed at all, only did the online training and exercises.

I applied online. I interviewed at SpeakWrite in Jul 2024

      Interview

You must first pass a typing speed test with the ability to type at least 60 wpm. If hiring, you will be given 30 days to complete training, which includes watching tutorials, passing quizzes, and doing 10 sample transcripts that will be rated (you have 3 tries to pass). It's a nice bonus that you are paid $25 if you pass and complete training.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SpeakWrite (New York, NY) in Sept 2016

      Interview

Filled out an online application. Took a typing speed test. Waited patiently (a couple days if I remember correctly)...and upon approval of my application, I was asked to complete a series of 10 test jobs. These are actual test jobs, they are not getting you to type current work for free - they are old jobs they use just to get an idea of your skill/ability.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They wanted to know about my previous experience.
