The process felt like it lacked communication. The initial phone interview fell through because HR forgot to forward the invitation to the team, and then no response until I sent a follow up email (because they were out of office with no ooo email - this was right around the holidays so I understand delays and being out, but I wish I had an auto response to let me know). They did accommodate a change from in person to virtual for the “on site” due to my COVID exposure at the last minute which was appreciated. An offer was extended with minimal details. No initial phone call to go over it, just an email the day after the interview (so they do move quickly!). The email includes the job title (which was confusing - I applied for an Engineer III position and the offer was for Engineer II. I understand the switch based on experience, but felt put off that it was never discussed or brought up). 2 weeks’ vacation and 1 week sick with eligibility for benefits. However, I had to follow up and ask about the benefits: information like pto accruals, overview of insurance options, and retirement plan eligibility/matching details, vesting time periods (6 years!) weren’t presented. The offer also mentioned that it was dependent on testing, which I feel is usually discussed at some point during the interview. I can only assume drug testing which is fine and common (for every job I’d applied to at least), but again felt like it should be brought up verbally.
