Only had a quick phone screen with the HR/recruiter. Very nice woman, enjoyed talking with her. However, she didn't ask me any questions about myself or my experience. The first thing she really focused on was when I graduated college. I was a little thrown off, because none of the recruiters or hiring managers ever asked me that before. She tried to play it off as if she was curious if my oldest job on my resume was my first job out of college. And I'm thinking -- does that even matter if it was my first job? Who cares? What about my current role and experience that aligns with the position I applied before. It leads me to believe that age is a factor in their hiring process, and it was such a turnoff. I answered honestly, and by the end of the brief 10 minute call, was told I'd receive a link for a zoom call later in the week to speak with her again. That email never came. So either she got my email address wrong, or couldn't be bothered to email me through Indeed where she had originally messaged me, or she just changed her mind .
