I applied online and the process took around a month. If it wasn’t for the holidays (Christmas and New Year), I believe it would have been shorter. The HR team sent me an assignment to work on with a real problem Spocket is facing, and I should document my process in solving it, and send the documentation within 48-72 hours.
The next interview was a 30 minute technical interview with the designer, where they asked me to tell about my experience as a Prodict Designer to show a case of mine and show my design process (again). The response came quickly and I had another 30 minute HR interview. The recruiter got late due to a meeting, so it all happened in 15 minutes and they basically asked me about my experience in remote job and confirmed some information I answered in the online application. I found it very weird that neither in the technical interview nor in the HR interview opened their cameras.
Then, I had a 15 minute interview with the CEO, where he asked me to present myself again. I know people ask us to present ourselves as a common practice, but I had the feeling that the CEO had zero information of me, despite I had already gone through 4 steps in the process. When I asked if I could make a question, he seemed offended but said “yeah, I have two more minutes” (although we had 5 more. Of a 15 minutes interview). But at least he opened up his camera.
The contact from the HR Team was very quick - taking around 2 days - but after this interview with the CEO, they had been radio silent for two weeks until I received a rejection email, stating that they decided to hire someone else. After reading the company reviews here, I felt relieved.
The whole process felt a bit sketchy. Not opening their cameras was unprofessional and did not give me confidence with the company. Plus, I had the feeling that no one talks with each other in there, since I had to share my experience over and over again. In other job processes, people usually know a bit about the candidate before hand.
