First an explanatory meeting (setsumeikai) with a senior engineer. Next, a take-home coding challenge. Then a second office visit with the department manager. Finally, an HR interview. There was one person in particular who was eager to discuss American Left vs. Right politics as well as ask bizarre and unprofessional questions. From a distance it seemed like a nice job. They advertise a 4-day work week and no overtime. Not sure how true that is. Once I got inside it felt like they were striving to maintain a very traditional work atmosphere. I would not describe the experience as warm, only traditional.
