Squaremouth interview questions

I’ve had two rounds of conversations with the hiring manager at this company over the last six months. The first time, I went through three rounds of interviews but ultimately didn’t get the role. That’s part of the process, and I understand. Several months later, I was contacted again, this time by the same hiring manager, after the original hire didn’t work out. I was asked if I was still interested in the position. I said yes and went through another recruiter screen (with a different team member) followed by another conversation with the hiring manager. During that interview, they shared detailed internal goals and processes, which made it seem like I was being seriously considered. I was told I’d hear about next steps within a week. It’s now been nearly a month, and I haven’t received any communication - despite following up. I understand that not every interview ends in an offer. But being asked to reapply, going through multiple rounds again, and then being ghosted is obscene and unprofessional. It’s disappointing because this company has positive reviews and seems like a good place to work. But based on how they treat candidates, I no longer see it as a place I’d want to be.
