      Account Executive Interview

      30 Sept 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Washington, DC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Starry (Washington, DC) in Sept 2019

      Interview

Unfortunately I didn’t have a great experience interviewing with Starry, it was rather unprofessional and a poor way to treat a well qualified candidate. Initially I submitted an application and received a request for phone interview, which I had with the recruiter. She said that my background was a great match for the role, and that the next step would be an interview with the hiring manager who would be contacting me within the next week. One week goes by, no contact, so I pinged the recruiter back. She apologized, promises again that he’ll call, and still no call. I ping her again, and she simply replied saying they are “all set” for the role, even though the requisition is still posted as available, and over that two week period I was never contacted or offered the opportunity to interview, I was completely neglected. The recruiter then tried to offer me to apply to a lower level position that I said from the beginning wouldn’t work for me. I followed up with her several times about other posted positions that were available that i was qualified for and interested in, according to their own recruiting platform, and she refused to respond or contact me back. I spent a lot of time and effort trying to get her to just speak to me, and after she essentially withdrew the offer to interview, ignored me altogether. A blessing in disguise I’m sure, as this must reflect what it is like working for them. Good luck, Starry.

      Account Executive Interview

      3 Nov 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Starry (Los Angeles, CA) in Sept 2019

      Interview

This was an odd one; the phone call with the recruiter was extremely bizarre. She didn’t seem to have a lot of info on general questions I asked and kept laughing throughout the interview. It’s a field sales job where you’ll have to call on multi unit dwellings trying to sell them internet. You are not reimbursed for gas or any cell phone (lots of data is used when you need to use navigation all day), however the base pay is high.
