I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Stemedica Cell Technologies (San Diego, CA)
Interview
Phone interview with hiring manager. Asked the usual questions. I was told to have one reference ready when the HR reached out to me for second interview.
Waited many weeks before HR phoned to schedule interview. No request for reference was made.
A couple of hours before the scheduled interview, hiring manager emailed me to verify I had received the interview itinerary, job description and rescheduled interview start time. Nope.
Schedule indicated interviews with 14 people. A third of the interviewers scheduled never showed up-including HR. Others did not have any questions for me (as they did not want to ask questions previously asked by other interviewers). Left me with lots of time to ask my questions.
The interviewers were very pleasant. They asked about whether I had kids or family.
Not many questions about what I did or to ascertain if I could do the job.
No additional contact after interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Do you have any kids? Family?
Tell us about yourself?
What do you do in QA?
Before setting up the interview, they ask you casually what is the lowest you are willing to work for. And naively you throw out a number considering you could "survive" with it
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Here is the best offer! (Giving you the lowest number you said casually)
Will not look in the eye and say "take it or someone else may be lucky to get this".
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Stemedica Cell Technologies (San Diego, CA) in May 2011
Interview
It started with the recruiter interview followed with the hiring manager phone interview. On-site interview was scheduled quickly afterwards. It wasn't scheduled well so I had to wait quite a bit for the interviewer, but overall it was quite easy and not overwhelming.
