I applied through other source. I interviewed at Stephenson Harwood (London, England) in Jun 2025
Interview
3 stage interview.
Written activity where you justified which company would be the best investment.
Discussion portion on a topic and you debated it to partners.
General interview where you discussed your work experience and you’re passion for law.
The interviewer made negative comments surrounding my non-law degree at university and questioned why I would ever need a job alongside university. All in all, tough interview process where they seemed quite pretentious.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How can I prove that I want a profession in law given my non-law undergrad degree?
It lasted for 45 mins. There were two partners interviewing me. Most are CV-based questions, followed by two technical legal scenario questions on Tort law and commercial awareness. Overall, the interview process was quite relaxed and the interviewers were nice.

Question 1
How would you advise your client for things to look out for in a business acquisition?
I applied online. I interviewed at Stephenson Harwood (London, England) in Aug 2017
Interview
I applied online, passed the Watson Glaser test, passed the first HR interview, and was invited to the Assessment Day. The whole process took 2 months in total.
The assessment day was a long day, consisting of a presentation, Partner interview, written test, commercial awareness interview, office tour and lunch.
The presentation requires a week-long preparation prior to the assessment day. The Partner will ask many questions on your presentation, followed directly by a Partner interview on competencies and interests. Spend time on understanding how the topic chosen in the presentation affects the firm.
The written exercise (1 hour 30 minutes) requires you to write a report based on the substantial amount of information provided. Your report then forms the basis for the next interview with a Partner where you will be asked on your rationale behind the advice you gave in the written exercise and a general discussion on the information.
