I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Stop & Shop (Oyster Bay, NY) in Jun 2011
Interview
so easy asked basic questions only one interview literally couldnt get much easier. I was a friend of one of the managers so maybe thats why but im just writing this bc i want to be able to read other reviews and glassdoor is making me write this so...
Brought a resume in to the interview, was hired on the spot based on prior experience in grocery/cashiering. Was not expecting to be hired on the spot. They explained the union situation and that was about it.
Very quick interview. Interviewer was friendly. Asked about availability and stressed the importance of stop and shop being a union. You will be hired as long as you are friendly polite and can demonstrate a positive attitude towards customers. Experience a plus.
I met with the store manager at the store. The interview was very easy and informative. We went over their benefits and what is like to work there. I had been a cashier before so I knew what would have been expected.
