I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sunglass Hut (Atlanta, GA) in May 2014
Interview
The process was pretty simple and straight forward. I submitted my resume in person to the store manager and received a phone call about 2 days later to schedule an interview. The manager was really friendly and outgoing and the interview was pretty conversational. He asked standard questions (Tell me about a time...). Following the interview I scheduled my interview with the center manager (the manager of all the locations in the mall I applied). My interview with her was awesome! She interviewed me along with the new store supervisor, both were extremely friendly and fun. I was again asked standard questions, but we often got off topic, cracking jokes and sharing stories. I was offered a position on the spot, pending my clear background check. Th background check took about a 1.5 weeks to come back.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
None. All standard. But I would advise you to be somewhat aware of luxury brands because both interviewers asked me about my favorite brands/stores.
Asked about experience, situational questions (was there ever a time where), if I'm interested in fashion, and register skills. Then the second in person part was role playing approaching a customer, giving advice, and testing a little knowledge about sunglasses like shapes and color theory.

Question 1
Was there ever a time where you had to deal with a difficult customer?
Phone (asked about availability, location & if I wanted full time/part time) then in person. Asked simple scenario questions about how I handled conflict and describe how I would sell stuff.

Question 1
If I could speak any other languages? Can I interact with a diverse group of people?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Sunglass Hut
Interview
It really depends on your manager as there’s no specific set guidelines. Generally easy questions and basic questions regarding sales. I’ve helped my manager come up with scenarios on top of some easy basic questions.
