Interview
Interviewed in March 2023
After submitting the required technical assignment, there was a 16-day waiting period before the technical interview. The interview experience was not what I expected - the discussion focused primarily on theoretical Java and Android concepts, with minimal discussion of the completed assignment. The interviewer expressed strong personal views on technical approaches that are generally considered open to different implementation strategies.
During this time, I received another offer and, since Swenson He was my preferred choice, I contacted them to request expedited feedback on my application status. Despite multiple follow-up attempts over 8 days, communication was limited. The process concluded with an automated rejection email without specific feedback.
The overall experience highlighted some opportunities for improvement in the interview process. The technical evaluation could benefit from more structured discussion of candidate submissions, and the communication timeline could be more consistent. Candidates should be prepared for an extended interview process that may require proactive follow-up.
While the company may offer valuable opportunities, my experience suggests there is room for enhancement in candidate communication and process efficiency.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Do you think kotlin named arguments can replace builder pattern?
Do you consider yourself as Android engineer or Software engineer in general?
This was the most unorganized interview experience I ever had. It took over a month for communication to get me to the next rounds. I got to the final round with one of the founders who seemed extremely uncaring. He was eating his lunch while talking to me. How disrespectful. I completed a full challenge for this company only to be ghosted and getting an automated email 2 months later telling me the role has changed.
