I interviewed for the Key Account Manager position at SignalBank. The hiring manager, who had recently joined the company, appeared to have limited understanding of the bank’s structure and products.
He mentioned that he works from home three days a week due to family reasons, which sounded unusual for someone expected to develop a new department. Two weeks later, he went on vacation and passed the process to his manager (likely the CEO).
HR confirmed the offer details: 95K CHF base salary, no bonus, no pension, no equity, and a portfolio of about 800 affluent clients to manage independently. When I asked to first clarify the compensation package with my direct manager before meeting his superior, I was told that the package was fixed — “take it or leave it.”
Despite that, the manager called again to emphasize how great it was to work at SignalBank, only to end the call saying he had chosen another candidate.
Overall: a disorganized and inconsistent process with unclear communication and decision-making structure.
