Phone screening with the recruiter. Video call with hiring manager, then panel interview. Meeting with the hiring manager was great. The team however was mediocre. Felt very cliquey and fake. One of the interviewers definitely was a gatekeeper. Made it challenging to ask specific questions to each person. Role itself was just ok. I didn’t get the vibe that it has a sense of autonomy (micromanaging, hierarchical) Older company = stuffy. Salary is not at par with my expectations and experience but wanted to learn more about the role so I probably should have said no in the beginning. I support hiring by merit but just to throw it out there - recruiter, hiring manager and the entire team were all white contrary to the diversity narrative.
Took 3 weeks to get an update. No time wasted though while interviewing elsewhere.
