I went through two technical assessment rounds and a final interview for a Project Analyst role. The process was reasonably efficient (around 3 weeks total), and the HR coordinator was responsive and polite throughout. However, my overall experience was neutral.
Despite reaching the final round, I was ultimately rejected—and the job was reposted shortly after. The role was advertised with an emphasis on research methods and interdisciplinary collaboration, which aligned well with my background. However, the final evaluation seemed to focus heavily on technical programming skills (e.g., near software engineering-level Python), which wasn’t clearly reflected in the job description or earlier stages.
The role has been open for more than six months, which may suggest ongoing internal misalignment around what the team is truly looking for. If the hiring team is prioritizing pure technical depth, it would help future candidates if that expectation were made clearer up front.
The mismatch between the advertised responsibilities and the actual evaluation criteria could definitely be improved.
