      Network Administrator Interview

      16 Sept 2011
      Anonymous employee
      Boxborough, MA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SynQor (Boxborough, MA) in Sept 2011

      Interview

I strongly disagree with the other review about the Network Administrator position here. Most places now do technical phone screens, and I felt that they accurately gauged competence based on the questions. Most of the questions were Cisco/Network related, which is what you would expect when applying for this position. We even went "deep" on a few areas such such as OSI vs TCP/IP. Once I passed the technical phone screen, I was invited to the SynQor campus and interviewed with the hiring manager, co-workers, and HR. The position supports all of the machines in R&D as well as international networks, hardly "Desktop Support". Overall, I felt they did a great job in the interview process. The only con I would say would be the whole process took about a month, but that could be par for the course.

      Network Administrator Interview

      6 Sept 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boxborough, MA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SynQor (Boxborough, MA) in Aug 2011

      Interview

They were very nice, but the whole process felt very amateurish. They called the position Network Administrator but what it was in reality was actually Windows Desktop Support with Network/System Admin duties on the side. The technical interview consisted of a guy reading multiple choice questions over the phone. The questions were really bland, and the person sounded like they were reading multiple choice questions they pulled up from a Google search. We did not go in depth on anything and I guess I must have passed the phone pop quiz because I was then invited for an on-site. There I got a tour of their facility but did not get quizzed on anything technical. Very easy and vanilla interview, and a nice position for someone looking to get their foot in the door as Desktop Support, but certainly not for a Network Admin with 5 years experience as was advertised.
