      Accounts Receivable Clerk Interview

      22 Jul 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sysco in Jun 2016

      Interview

I applied online and quickly got a phone screening that asked basic questions. A week later, I was on-site and interviewed with two managers. The first manager was not friendly or warm. The person kept repeating and pushing the same questions even though I followed the STAR format and gave thorough examples. It seemed like they was looking for a family type individual for the role as there were many odd questions about my family. The second manager even asked if I had children or not. I walked away from the interview confused as to why the first manager kept rudely repeating the same questions to me. It seemed like the person couldn't open their mind to different answers than what they expected. Overall, the process to hear back took too long and the first manager was just cold/robotic. Half of the questions were about my experience and the rest were behavioral/situational. Seems like the company operates on procedures from the 80s and they need better training on what appropriate questions to ask.

      Question 1

Do you dwell on mistakes? Do you resent team members? What would you do if someone threw you under the bus for a project? Are you confrontational? How does your desk look like? Do you get upset if someone has a messy desk? What are your plans? How do you deal with conflict between co-workers? How do you deal with someone messing with your day? Are you okay with hearing about your mistakes? How to deal with a difficult customer situation?
