A recruiter or HR representative may conduct a short phone screen (15–30 mins) to verify basic qualifications, salary expectations, and interest in the role.
Some companies use automated video screening ,where you record answers to preset questions.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TELUS (Vancouver, BC) in Apr 2023
Interview
It started out good and ended very disappointingly. It consisted of three rounds of interviews: phone screening with the recruiter, interview with the hiring manager, interview with a director from another department (all over Google Meet). The recruiter was lovely, very friendly and warm, as was everyone else I spoke with. After my third interview, the one with a director, I didn't hear anything back. I followed up with the recruiter just over a week after the interview, and then again two weeks after I had last heard from her. Only then did she get back to me to tell me I didn't get the role. Although the communication was poor, everyone I met was really great and I hope they've found someone amazing to join the team. I know they're growing and things are changing quickly so I'm sure the process will get better in the future!
