First and foremost, I felt the interview was solely based my appearance as oppose to my physical or mental ability to perform the position. My nails were painted I wore professional shoes to the interview, which were about an inch in length. Obviously, if came in wearing tattered clothing I probably would have been a better fit. Then, the director proceeds to tell about employee and inmate involvement I chuckled because, I clearly stated, I was married and was a liven aide for seven years. I never even interacted with a male in that manner other then professional in terms of their care— ONLY! Seven years living with someone in their home and most of my patients were women. It’s safe to say, I knew coming in what type of work it was... OF course I’m not going to be wearing heels and nail polish for the job. This was solely to look professional for an interview. Furthermore, I don’t think someone who sleeps around or would prefer male interaction would choose to do that line of work for that many years, as your always in the patient home SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, THREE HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE DAYS A YEAR! I beg to differ .... Maybe, their just used to run down individuals, or they prefer men, as their less likely to be enticed by the prisoners. I would never jeopardize my moral character for an inmate or anyone for that matter. I’m a very professional individual, and not about to sacrifice my livelihood for temporary satisfaction; deadened relationships. Lastly, I’m a married woman who has respect for herself. My experience superseded the requirements for this position, I wish they focused on that more.
