There were three rounds for me. First was a skills assessment wherein I was asked to submit a portfolio. Second was a skills interview with their PR Head, wherein I was questioned about my skills and experience. Third was an interview with the CEO and what was supposedly a culture check. I mean by all means this was supposed to be a conversation where we would ideally discuss about the company, its goals and how I would fit well there.
The CEO was 15 mins late for the scheduled call, there was no mention of the culture of the company. The interview ended in 12 minutes flat and I knew from the first second this was not what I was expecting. He immediately started the conversation about how he was confused about my resume, he seemed flustered and did not even deign to start the interview with a greeting. All the questions insinuated I lacked the skills that were required, which again begets the question why I cleared the skills round. He mentioned the other international hires had not performed according to his expectations. And what really upset me was the question if I had any experience writing in English. Which is funny because 1. My resume is self explanatory and 2. I had already shared writing samples after which I was selected. They also have made no effort in responding to my application. Not that I would work there anyway, but it is just decent behavior to inform a candidate after being in their hiring process for this long.
