Interview
HR was extremely communicative. Informed me about the interviewer, content of the interview and key things to prepare for each step and shared feedback afterwards. Interviewers were also well prepared, very focused but polite and elaborated on their answers when I asked my questions.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Talabat (Dubai) in Nov 2025
Interview
Omit HR call because it is a random and depends on a person.
I did not till the end know what team they want to match me in and that frustrate a lot
1) I was asked extensively upon my previous experience and practice oriented questions like how write a good quality code etc.
2) Coding - TDD kata. Be ready to elaborate on each step in details
3) System design - hard part. Looks like downgrade attempt as it works like in a bigtech(but fellows are not), you may be given a random question. Learn Uber or delivery design with focus on proximity part and all about geo data
4) Engineering fit: not classic one. CTO started to ask precise dates of work at past positions and what services directly I owned(for SWE-2 not even senior position). There were no classic STAR questions at all. It was over pretty fast without any feedback
I interviewed at Talabat (Cairo, Cairo Governorate)
Interview
It was a very good interview, with 2 phases, the first phase was a problem solving Interview in which you have to solve it live with your interviewer and resolve follow up questions that represents optimization. The second phase was a system design interview.
