I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Tandem Labs (Trenton, NJ) in Apr 2015
Interview
There was no schedule and interviewers looked surprised they had to talk to me; hiring manager was absent; no one could tell me why they needed someone with my education level
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Tandem Labs (Durham, NC) in May 2014
Interview
2 Phone interviews with a panel of 3 managers prior to an onsite interview
On site interview that lasted about 3 hours
Warm welcome by the director
Before the panel questions, one manager showed me around the company and introduced me to several people. They do have an impressive battery of mass spectrometers and LCs. He did mention that there is a lot of pressure put on the employees and as a result some people have left the company in search of other jobs. I think the compensation is borderline OK for that size of company, location and industry, but they can do more.
The reason that they gave me for not offering me the job is that I did not have enough experience for the position. The position was still open many months after my interview.
