I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Teaching.com in Dec 2024
Interview
Interview was two parts, first part was a personality check and second was a personality / technical. For the first part it was easy. Just answering some questions. The technical part was answering high level questions about laravel and a question about MySQL.
It seems that they're looking for someone who wants to work solo and make decisions alone rather than someone who wants to work on a team and make decisions as a team. Everyone I met was nice though!
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Teaching.com in Apr 2023
Interview
Applied online ad immediately was asked to complete a typing test (which was easy) and an English and communication assessment. After taking both assessments I was contacted by a recruiter. Had a Zoom interview and it went well. The last topic we talked about was salary range. They asked me what my expected salary was and I told them, then they kindly mentioned that they do not have any salary range for any positions at their company. It's basically a "tell me what you think you're worth" situation. After the interview, they took 2 days to message me, which is fine. They told me they enjoyed our conversation and wanted to continue the interview process with me, but only if I considered being flexible with the salary. Of course, I said yes I would be willing to negotiate. They even said they don't seek to undermine me, my skills, experience, or value. But that's exactly what they did because after I accepted to continue the interview process, they ghosted me. Stay far away! If money is an issue, maybe they should start specifying a salary range and stop asking people what they want, when you have no intentions of giving them what they asked for.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me questions about my experience. Asked me where I was located, what I was looking for in a company.
They requested a motivational letter and then in the second round asked for a video presentation of me and of a piece of code I wrote that I was proud of. It showed me they value the cultural fit of their employees.
