      Marketing Assistant Interview

      21 Feb 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Aliso Viejo, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TechSpace (Aliso Viejo, CA) in Jan 2018

      Interview

I first had a phone interview with HR. The phone call was about 15 minutes and I was asked questions about my previous employment and different questions about my skills that would be relevant to the job. Michele was really nice and very informative and answered all my questions that I had. A few hours later I received an e-mail from Kim the Marketing Director asking me to come in for an in person interview in a few days. When I arrived I had to fill out a previous employment application that I received from the Receptionist. I met with Kim who had a list of questions to ask me in front of her. She asked me a lot of questions about my previous employment from my resume as well as my skills relevant to the job. You could really tell how knowledgeable Kim was within Marketing and she made me really interested in working for TechSpace. After our interview I was asked to write a sample blog post so she could see how my writing was for potential blog posts for the company. I was told it could be any blog post relevant to TechSpace and that I had 30 minutes to complete the task. All in all the interview process with Kim lasted about 45 minutes. I was told I would hear about the job the following week. I left feeling really good and hoping I’d get the job as from everything Kim told me it sounded like the perfect job for me. The following week I received a phone call from Michele with an offer for the job as well as an e-mail with an offer letter. I started the job a week later. From when I applied for the job till I received an offer for the job it was about 3 weeks. Very quick process!

      Interview

I had a phone interview & on site interview. Both my interviewers asked the general questions, tell me about yourself, where do you see yourself in 5 years, etc. Neither seemed really excited to interview me. I was surprised to get the on site interview after the phone interview because it & and the interviewer was so bland. I sent a Thank You email after the on site interview, but received no response to it or any updates about the position. Even though I didn't receive an offer, I feel as if I'm better off without it as this company elicits no enthusiasm from its employees.
