I'm sure my experience is not a reflection of the entire Cigna process, and only indicative of this specific recruiter but I can only describe the experience as unpleasant, unprofessional and outright rude.
I got a response to my application to set up an interview. On the call the recruiter did not know my name, they asked me what position I was interviewing for, then proceeded to take five minutes to find my resume and review it for presumably their first time. Cigna's own interview tips page recommends be prepared and know about the company, you would think they would do the same.
I was given time to elaborate on my background and experience, but after that I was constantly interrupted and hardly given an opportunity to speak unless I interrupted them. And the overall tone sounded as though this call was a burden on the recruiter.
Not once did we discuss the job I applied for, they immediately started looking through other job postings. When I circled back to the job I thought we would be discussing they said Oh no we are hiring someone with much more experience than you. (posting said 3+ years I have around 5).
They berated me for highballing the salary expectation saying I need to be realistic and said they could maybe offer 90-100k at best until I reminded them that the job posting had the range listed at 96-162k. When they retracted and said oh yeah we are legally required to give that in your state.
In the time since that call, 3 emails, 2 phone calls, and a voicemail have all gone unanswered and at this point I don't expect to hear from them ever again. Never in my life did I think I would leave one of these reviews but I am so frustrated with this recruiter I felt it needed to be shared.
