The head of English teachers interviewed me and it was a good and comfortable experience. She was very kind and respectful, never putting me in the spot. I was then invited for a lesson demo, which I did with another English teacher. Though it was awkward on my part, I felt that it went relatively well. The teacher was helpful in explaining how to improve my teaching and patiently answered all my questions. At this point, I was extremely interested in working with them as the teachers seemed to enjoy their job and genuinely care about their students, as well as competent.
However, after meeting the founder, I did not stay to find out whether I got an offer. He chose to "touch base in-person" when it could have been a short email which would have probably left me with a better impression. He was extremely demeaning and patronising, which I did not appreciate, and I made up my mind on the spot to take up my other job offer. Notably, he disregards any effort that has gone into non-full time jobs, be it education, part-time/contract roles and internships, and commented that "You are a fresh graduate. What experiences could you even be referring to? Internships and whatever don't count."
Since this is an SME, I highly recommend taking on this job only after you have had a chance to meet this character.
