Was a complete waste of time but got a free holiday which is great. So had a Skype interview which I passed and got a interview at Emirates office in Dubai. Emirates paid for hotel and flights for the interview. The interview process was to first do a presentation and then a group discussion. If you get through them, then ONLY do you have a face to face interview, even though you traveled from another part of the world. So they are unable to find out your level of IT skills till then. The presentation was first part.. Basically just messing about with drawing up a few slides on a scenario they set out and then presenting to a team of 3. Some guy from India good cop, some guy from UK bad cop and some Arabian women who only got the job because she was emirati and struggled to understand her English. The guy from the UK was just being unprofessional throughout your presentation. Making up things to put you of and saying what your doing is wrong. It was highly unexpected as he needs to understand we are not from India or another part of South Asia, so I did give it back. Then there was a group interview which was just to discuss a scenario nothing IT related. It was a complete waste of time as it has nothing to do with IT skills which the INTERVIEW should be about. All the candidates who turned up on the day were turned down and did not get a face to face, which i found ridiculous. I think we were all shocked how poor and awful the process was. But that is Dubai for you, they do love to waste money.
