The process is pretty standard, write a cover letter, add CV and answer questions online. Then a face to face interview with the research team at the department within the institute. Included tour and question section.

Interview
Standard interview for advertised position - met with PI on a zoom call, then was invited for a formal interview with the lab where I gave a ~1h seminar. Followed by meeting with the PI again and lunch and 1:1 meetings with the rest of the lab.

Question 1
Specific and quite challenging questions specific to my project. PI was keen on my technical skills and so asked me more on whether I was the one who did certain exps, how familiar I was with x technique.

It spanned over two months. Had several meetings with the PI and his collaborators. However, the salary, project duration and the source of funding was never openly discussed. Also, since it was several short sessions, it felt like the PI wasn't wanting to hear my concerns
