I applied online and was called fairly quickly for an interview. I scheduled an interview with the Senior Director. She offered to meet me on a Sunday because she travels between two cities for work. I had to fill out the application first and after that I sat with her for the interview. The interview was pretty standard for ECE jobs. It was difficult for me to read her reaction but she asked me to come in for an classroom observation visit. It seemed strange to me that a director would be asked to come in to be observed in the classroom because that is usually for teachers but I agreed and told her I would email her later that day to set it. up. She mentioned that directly after the classroom observation I would be interviewed by the owner, if she is pleased I would go for another interview with the Senior Director and the other center director. It seemed like overkill to me but I never even got that far. I emailed the Senior Director to schedule the classroom observation twice but she NEVER responded and it has been a month. I do not think it was a good practice to not at least tell an applicant what the outcome was. I have years of experience in teaching and administration. I recently looked up the center staff to see that one of the directors that was going to interview me has less education and experience than me! I did well on what I would consider a standard interview but for some reason other than my work experience and education I assume that I was not a good fit. I will only be left to assume because the Senior Director never got back with me. To me this was very unprofessional.
