I applied for a mat leave cover, received a phone call late Friday not long after application. Answered all the questions and basically said I already do everything they are looking for. The tone of the person who called indicated she wasn't interested in me. I hung up and didn't expect to ever hear from them again. I also told her my salary expectations and she said it was in line with the role. The following Monday I got a call asking if I would come to an in person interview that day. I said yes. At the interview they barely asked me any questions. Didn't ask for me to explain any of my experience. I was interviewed by two ladies who were nice but mostly talked about themselves, the role and requirements. The second woman asked me my salary expectations, I told her the same thing I said to the other woman on the phone and she said they can't pay that high and it was a 10k under what I was looking for. A couple days later I saw they re-advertised the role before telling me the outcome. Then they emailed me a generic unsuccessful email which I thought was ironic given then didn't ask me any questions in the interview.
