I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Heart Research Institute (Sydney) in Sept 2011
Interview
Phone call to arrange interview. Face to face interview with the principle investigator and one other postdoc from the lab. Interview was held in a small conference room and lasted about half an hour. The principle investigator did most of the talking. He started with "So you are from [town I grew up in]! What is it like there?", to break the ice. He explained the role of the job a bit more than what was advertised, and then he went through my CV and asked me what was the main thing I was hoping to get out from this job. I was given a phone call on the same day asking whether or not I could take the job.

One phone call interview, then a Zoom interview (during COVID times). Interview was only 10 mins long, as research group leader said that’s all the time they really need to make a decision.
