I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot
Interview
I was first called from a staffing center not associated with my local Home Depot. They told me what position I was being interviewed for with a brief description then asked me if I had any questions. The questions were very generic, asking about a time when I worked with a group, what experience has prepared for me the position, ect.
After I answered all the questions they offered me an in-store interview on the spot. I was sent an e-mail that had the date and time of my interview and I was instructed to print it out and bring it with me on the day of my interview.
For the in store interview I was asked questions more specifically related to the position such as my leadership experience in previous jobs and how I would handle different customer situations (such as a customer being angry and yelling about their experience). At the end of the interview, my interviewer told me that they had to interview at least 3 people before offering the position to anyone and since I was first it may be a few weeks. Approximately 2-3 weeks later I received a call offering me the position.

Question 1
Name a time you went above and beyond to help a customer.
Quite simple, you complete an application online and come in for a day of shadowing at the store. You will discuss a few interview questions with a manager and then they will give you a tour of the store.

Question 1
Describe a scenario in which you had to solve a problem in a group setting
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Calgary, AB) in Mar 2025
Interview
It was an in-person interview held at the store. The interview was relaxed and friendly. The manager asked about my previous customer service experience, how I handle busy hours, and my ability to lead a team at the front end. They also asked situational questions to see how I would respond to customer concerns or team issues. The whole process was clear, professional, and supportive.

Question 1
They asked like Can you describe a time when you had to resolve a conflict?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Gloucester Courthouse, VA) in Sept 2024
Interview
My interviewer asked basic questions, which were nothing too difficult. They are looking for how you handled past situations and want more than just one or two sentences, try to tell them the story from start to end with details but at the same time make sure you are not talking about the same story for 2+ minutes.
