A very unique application process!
Firstly, you have to produce a Tableau viz with a dataset of your choosing. You can use free tutorials online to aid in learning how to use Tableau. I chose my dataset and produced a dashboard. After completing my first draft, I had sent it to the Data School for feedback. After receiving feedback, I had made changes to my dashboard.
After that, I had been invited to the phone screening stage. This is a simple half-hour Skype-like call where you share you laptop/PC screen with someone from The Information Lab and walk them through your Tableau viz and explain any trends that you have spotted with your data and etc.
After that, I had passed through to the final interview stage. Two weeks prior to the interiew date, a datset was given from The Information Lab. All candidates that has passed t teh final interviw have been given the same dataset. With this dataset, I was supposed to produce a viz and then present it to The Information Lab on interview. You're allowed to send your viz to the data school for feedack at this stage, too!
First part of the interview was to do the five minute presentation of your viz. Then you answer questions about your viz. Second part was a culture fit interview.
