I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Plum Guide
Interview
Several interviews with leadership – discussing past experiences, decision-making, and assessing cultural fit, leadership style, and alignment with company values
Take-home task on predicting LTV – independent data project to evaluate analytical skills, business acumen, and problem-solving approach
Presentation of findings – delivering insights to stakeholders, demonstrating storytelling ability and strategic thinking
Follow-up Q&A session – deep dive into assumptions, methodology, and recommendations, testing clarity and adaptability under pressure
The process is excessively lengthy, primarily due to their uncertainty about whether they require the candidate they are interviewing. It involves multiple stages, including online assessments, case studies, and in-person interviews with management. Even after completing these steps, additional interviews or discussions are often requested, making the experience unnecessarily protracted and inefficient.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at The Plum Guide in Jul 2024
Interview
I was reached directly for an intro call. I had never heard of plum guide before, so my expectation of our first call was exactly what was said, an introduction. The request stated that the call would be focused on me learning more about the company and them introducing the kind of candidate that they’re looking for to me to see if I was interested. When I got on the call, it was clear that it was actually an interview and not an introduction call. I was asked questions like “why do you want to work at Plum guide” and questions asking what I thought about the company, what they did, and how I would be a good fit. I was completely caught off guard as it was clear there was somehow a miscommunication, even though the person who reached out to me directly is the person who interviewed me.
Not to mention that the person who interviewed me seemed frustrated the entire time we were on the phone that we even had to speak. As if I was wasting their time. Easily the worst interview experience I’ve ever had.
