I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at The Summit Center (Getzville, NY) in Mar 2011
Interview
The interview was professionally conducted. Be certain to know a lot about Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), as that is their primary form of teaching. They ask a lot of questions to determine your experience working with children with Autism and other disabilities. There are many children that require very special educational settings and you have to be prepared to accommodate them.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked what you know about ABA and what experience you have with it. They also try to determine if you are qualified both physically and mentally for working with this special population. They need to know that you will be able to work with students that potentially can be violent and how you would react to them.
Thank you for leaving a review! We are glad to have so many talented individuals applying to Summit Academy, and we hope the process was not only positive but also offered a fair representation of what Summit has to offer along with the challenges and benefits of our majority special population.
