I was referred to the position by a corporate recruiter. Initially had a very pleasant call with HR to discuss job requirements and HR explained the steps for the interview process. Few days later, I took an 1.5 hour online assessment using devskillers which was pretty easy. After that, I did not hear from HR for a few days and later found out from my corporate recruiter the initial salary range communicated by my recruiter to HR as well as my direct answer of salary range requirement during my initial HR call was not within the position's salary range.
So why waste candidate's time and ask to complete the online assessment when the job was never a match in the first place.
