I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Thoropass in Oct 2025
Interview
I interviewed through a recruiter with one of their talent acquisition team. The interviewer was nice enough and the questions were what you might expect. At the end of the interview, he said he would like to move me to the next step, told me the person I'd be interviewing with, asked me about my availability...and then nothing. Not even an email saying "we decided to move forward with other candidates." It was ridiculously unprofessional.
They're already replacing humans with AI. I felt very disrespected to have an interview with an IA, she was supposed to ask questions in the form of a flowing conversation and rather than a conversation/interview it felt like a criminal interrogation.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Thoropass in Feb 2025
Interview
I was recently contacted by a recruiter at Thoropass via LinkedIn regarding an open role and was initially excited about the opportunity. Unfortunately, the experience left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. After completing a hiring manager interview, I followed up multiple times seeking an update on next steps, but received no response.
What made this particularly frustrating was seeing the recruiter actively posting on LinkedIn about a marathon they were running and celebrating that the role had been filled—while never providing me with any direct communication or closure.
I understand that priorities shift and roles get filled, but candidates deserve the basic courtesy of a timely response—especially after taking time to actively engage for other candidates because in this recruiter's words, "We had 40 people apply and the people we've interviewed so far had just weird backgrounds."
I hope Thoropass takes steps to ensure a more respectful and communicative process for future applicants.
