I was taken off guard by the lack of professionalism from the staff here. I had paid for and gotten my CPR Certificate in order to be considered for a position at Thrive, but was never once asked about it. Makes you wonder how much they really care about the people that they’re hiring and if the staff are even equipped to handle an emergency themselves. I had gotten interviewed and it just felt like they didn’t intend to hire me from the get go. Even if that wasn’t the case, I was not made comfortable. The girl that I was being interviewed by was obviously tuning in-and-out of our conversation and even interrupted me midspeech to start texting. Is that how they treat their residents too, I wonder? This place just makes me sad. The facility is spacious and absolutely beautiful, but that doesn’t matter when the staff working there couldn’t even be bothered to show me a shred of decency. It also doesn’t help knowing that they never got back in touch with me after my interview…. it all just feels so fake. Thrive claims to want to dismantle the negative stereotypes that are associated with retirement homes, but the vibe of the place was surprisingly uppity. I actually hope that isn’t the case, for the sake of the people living there…. but I don’t know. I just thought it’d be worthwhile to share my experience.
