I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Thrivent in May 2020
Interview
Did a one hour video interview for a DevOps Engineer job with two guys. One guy didn't even show his face. I was told that they were looking forward to speaking with me. Come to find out they have been unwilling to hire any one of the more than 20 candidates they have interviewed for the position over the past 6 months. I was asked all kinds of technical questions about every skill and tool that was listed in my resume. I stumbled and was unable to answer some questions, which clearly upset the interviewer, and he started getting an attitude, cutting me off when I was speaking, and saying things like "It would be foolish for someone to list something in their resume and not be able to speak about it!" They went on to tell me they are looking for someone who has used the same tools they use and can learn quickly. Rude, unprofessional, and misleading staff who need to manage their expectations. Don't tell the candidate you look forward to speaking with them, if you have no idea what you're talking about. Nobody is going work with this kind of people. That's if they even give them a chance!
