I was required to submit my resume and cover letter to HR so that it could follow the same process as all of the other candidates. All government job applicants must be subject to the same screening process. The screening process can be a lengthy one, but luckily for internship positions that is unlikely.

Simple background skills knowledge experience review. Already had the requisite qualifications and background. The committee was very pleasant friendly and helpful. Since I was just coming out of school it was quite easy as they were probably interested in a fresh graduate.
