      Customer Representative Interview

      3 Jun 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Toast Inc

      Interview

I applied online and was asked to set up a time to interview with a recruiter. From there I was asked to set a time with a team member for the position. After the interview I was called and told that the interview was set up with the wrong person and was asked if I wanted to interview with the right person. I said sure. The person came back and said they didn’t need to do the interview. I then went on to a case study that was completely ambiguous and went above and beyond rectifying areas for compliance based off of little information and no one to reach out to because I never interacted with the one person who was reviewing because he didn’t want to interview me after the scheduling mistake they made. After that no feedback was given regarding what was wrong and was told I was the second candidate and that they would be happy to assist with other jobs as I was a strong candidate. Since then nothing AND ironically I recommended to coworkers that this could potentially be a good fit. The position they said was closed, they are now interviewing my coworker for. Someone is blatantly being lied to. Absolutely unprofessional and a joke of an interview process. Do not lie to anyone, especially overqualified candidates. You lose all trust and respect from top talent upfront. Don’t mess up interviewing schedules. You align the process the correct way to begin with so there is no bias or discrimination.

Thank you for sharing this valuable feedback. We recognize how important accuracy and consistency is during the hiring process. What you've described here is far from what we aim to provide for our candidates, and I'd be interested in hearing more about your experience. Please feel free to reach out to me directly on LinkedIn. - Lori Busch, Director, Talent Acquisition Operations
