First interview the HR person forgot she had an interview and never showed up. So I did them a favor and scheduled a second interview knowing full well I would never work for a company comprised of amateurs. 650 employees and only $100m in top line annual revenue?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Toptal (London, England) in May 2023
Interview
Had one call with a recruiter Was asked right away to do a case study. I asked to have at least another session before the case study , given the seniority of the role. Was denied another call. I did the case study and was rejected without even the possibility of discussing it with anyone. Feedback was that there was nothing wrong with the content but I went off brand in the presentation.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Toptal (Lake Worth, FL) in Oct 2018
Interview
The lead recruiter that I worked with (Lauren R) put to rest any fears I had about Toptal being unresponsive in the interview process (which was implied by many experiences shared on Glassdoor). She was really great to work with...very responsive and very professional. Overall, the interview process was very well organized. I had 3 calls in total, one with the recruiter, one with an operations lead, and another with two Toptal VPs. I assume the next call would have been with the CEO, however I did not make it to that step after a “not so great” third interview. This was my first set of interviews in nearly ten years, so perhaps I am a little rusty. :) overall, great practice. The process does require you to go the extra mile to substantiate your background, however, I wouldn’t expect any different.
