I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Toyota North America
Interview
1st round with hiring manager, 60 mins
Asked three pre-written behavorial/situational questions, answer must be in STAR format. Extremely formal.
2nd round with panel of peers from neighboring team, 60 mins (1 week later)
Each person asked another pre-written behavorial/situational question (again answer must be in STAR format), however none of the panel could answer questions about the job itself. The interview was seemingly more like a high school test of how well I could answer the questions, as the content I spoke about per my work experience went right over their heads. Frustrating.
3rd round with the hiring manager's manager, 30 mins (another week later)
The realest interview of them all - they told me to set aside my notes and script, and talk to them about why I wanted the job, why I felt I would be a good fit, what they expected of me in the role, etc. It was the most enjoyable interview in the whole process.
Interview questions [6]
Question 1
Discuss a time when you were able to help a customer/client achieve an important organizational goal.
We all have had discussions with people where we just see things differently. Tell me about the last time you had a conversation with someone who had a different viewpoint than you on a certain issue.
Interview process was straightforward and required the use of the STAR format. It took about two to three weeks from the first interview with recruiting to confirmation of orientation date.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Toyota North America (Ypsilanti, MI) in Jul 2025
Interview
Invited for initial 15 minute interview. Iwas told I would be invited for a follow up interview with managers by the end of the next week when the manager returned from PTO. I have been ghosted and ignored ever since.
The interview process was structured and professional. The panel asked thoughtful questions, and the recruiter provided clear communication and helpful guidance throughout. Overall, it was a positive and engaging experience.
